Coffee Shelf Station

Crafted from reclaimed Pinewood and finished in mahogany

This custom coffee shelf station began with a broken bedframe that would have otherwise been discarded. I reclaimed the Pinewood and gave it new life — sanding it smooth and finishing it with a rich red mahogany stain that highlights the grain and warmth of the wood.

As the design evolved, I wanted the piece to be more than just storage. I found a leftover piece of Birch plywood and cut a steaming coffee cup silhouette by hand with a scroll saw, painting it in metallic off-white for contrast against the deep stained wood. The finished shelf measures about 25 inches long and holds six coffee cups, with spacing based on the client’s own mugs. This collaboration shows how I work with clients to create one-of-a-kind, functional art pieces.

Every knot, grain, and imperfection tells a story of renewal and craftsmanship. This shelf blends utility and artistry, turning reclaimed materials into a unique focal point for a coffee nook. It’s a mix of practicality and creativity — functional décor that brings warmth to any space.
